House Cutter {Giveaway}!

I’m so excited!  This is my very first giveaway for Gingerbread House How To, and I hope you enjoy it.

I was in my local craft store Michaels looking through all of their holiday finery, and came upon the Wilton section, and the House Cutter Set called out to me.

Back in the day……yes, I think I am old enough to use that particular phrase….well, at least my body feels old enough….when I started baking gingerbread houses, there were no cutters.  You had to create your own, and since I’ve been doing that for awhile now, I think of it as no big deal.  But there are some people that don’t have the desire, let alone the time to do that.  That’s where the House Cutter Set comes in.  You roll out your dough (don’t forget to try this great recipe) and cut out the house pieces just like you would a cookie.  Assemble with royal icing, and you have a house ready to decorate!

So now you have a house, but who lives in it???  Well, that’s easy.  It’s the gingerbread family that you can make with the second set of cutters that I’m giving away.  This is a set of 4 cutters, a gingerbread man, a gingerbread woman, a gingerbread boy, and a gingerbread girl.  They were just so cute I couldn’t resist. :)

CONGRATULATIONS CINDY MACARTHUR!

You are the winner of my very first giveaway!  I will be contacting you via email to get your shipping address so I can send you your brand new cutters!

Thank you to all who entered!

-Linda

Thank you for pointing your site out to me, love it! I would love to see a list of various items to be used to decorate the houses with pictures showing examples. So many times you see awesome houses but no idea what some of the parts are made of.

New to decorating Gingerbread houses, so think I am going to try the basic first. But if it goes well I really want to do the 2 story!

Thanks, Linda. I just stumbled onto this site as I am preparing my annual gingerbread house project. I, like you, remember the day, and still cut out my own patterns, although the older I get the harder it seems. The really fun part is in the decorating, anyway. I even was featured in a local newspaper article. The biggest catastrophe was when my puppy climbed up and ate the roof off my “victorian mansion”. I’m going to try one of your patterns today. I also am making one for my assistant at work for a present. Happy Holidays

I first made gingerbread houses with my grandchildren last year. They were 5 & 6. This year, they started asking to do it before Thanksgiving! And I think the little one, now 4, is probably ready to do one of his own! So I was happy to see some different patterns to try. I’d love to have the family cutters to go with our houses!
